Yoga Psychology

What is Yoga Psychology at Light Street?

Yoga Psychology (YP) is a holistic approach designed to balance the mind, body, and spirit. It views the human experience as a series of fluctuations—our emotions, thoughts, and environments are constantly changing, but our core consciousness remains constant. By learning to become an “objective witness” to these changes, you can achieve equanimity and peace even during life’s most difficult obstacles.

A Holistic Framework for Change

Unlike traditional talk therapy alone, Yoga Psychology incorporates the 8 Limbs of Yoga to provide a comprehensive map for living. We help you move from being controlled by your thoughts to observing them without judgment. This shift in perspective allows for rapid growth and the detachment from negative roles or behaviors that no longer serve you.

Our Clinical Approach

  • Learn practices that promote balance between mind, body, and spirit
  • Develop mindfulness and meditation skills to observe thoughts without judgment
  • Study and apply the principles of the “8 limbs of yoga”
  • Practice breathing techniques such as pranayama to support relaxation and focus
  • Increase self-awareness and shift negative thought patterns toward positive ones
